Hey Luvz,
It's true, everyone likes to look nice. We all like to get our hair done and we try to keep up with the latest styles in fashion. And shame on us if our nails are looking raggedy. We do our best and why not, it's a woman's prerogative to want to look attractive. As the old adage goes, when you look good, you feel good!
Their are a few "don't do's" that black women should be aware of when it comes to beauty and good grooming. Not everyone realizes when they are crossing that "oh so short" beauty line, and sometimes not even your best friend will tell you that you've over did it. Going just a little too far can turn "pretty" into "pretty ugly"! Listed below you'll find the top 5 things that woman of color shouldn't do.
No. 1 - Lipstick
If you have fuller thicker lips, don't wear glossy shiny lipstick. It is not a compliment to your lips. It makes them look greasy and much bigger than they are. When people look at you all they see is lips coming at them. A better choice would be a nice darker shade matte lipstick. Ask a cosmetic consultant to help you find the best selections.

No. 2 - Wigs
If you like to wear wigs, and who doesn't. Make sure you wear them the way they were intended to be worn. For instance, a full head wig should not be pulled back into a ponytail. It looks fake, the idea of wearing a wig is to make it look convincing. Pulling it back disrupts it's natural pattern. If you want to wear a ponytail, buy one. Also ladies if your going to wear a half-wig, please, read the directions. It's called a half-wig (3/4 inch) for a reason.

No. 5 - The Feet
No one wants to look at crusty, ashy, flaky feet, it can be a big turn-off. It may not be possible for all of us to afford to get pedicures, but it only takes a few minutes to groom those tootsies. Try to keep your toenails cut and after showering, remember to use lotion or oil to moisturize and soften your feet.
